Description

The Si3540 is a programmable step motor drive/indexer packaged in a rugged steel and aluminum enclosure. Integral power supply, heat sink, mounting brackets, switch covers and connectors are included with each Si3540. The Si3540 comes with all operating software necessary to create a complete step motor-based motion control solution.

The Si3540 includes Applied Motion Products' Windows-based Si Programmer™ software application for quick set up and ease of use. Si Programmer™ is ideal for stand-alone operation. For users with software development expertise, the Si3540 can also be used with Applied Motion's Si™ Command Language (SCL). SCL allows for control of an Si drive, like the Si3540, via serial commands sent from a host device such as a PC or PLC. This permits the user to perform a variety of motion, I/O, and system status tasks via a host serial device.

Multiple axis applications can be handled with the SiNet™ Hub Programmer software, which gives you the ability to control up to 4 "Si" or "i" drives, stepper and servo, from just one SiNet™ Hub 444. Not only can you sequence up to four motors, but a SiNet™ Hub 444 also has access to the inputs and outputs of all the drives connected to it, providing your program with up to 32 inputs and 12 outputs. In addition, the Hub 444 provides 4 digital inputs and 4 digital outputs of its own. You can also use Applied Motion's MMI-01 to interface the drives with the machine operator.

Factory set to operate at 110 VAC input, the Si3540 can be set by the user to operate at 220 VAC input by a simple switch selection.

Pluggable screw terminal blocks are provided for the I/O, motor, and AC power input. Mating connectors, programming cable with computer interface connector, as well as all operating software are provided with each Si3540 drive.

The Si3540 is both CE and TUV compliant.

Si Programmer
Intended for use in stand-alone applications, Si (Simple Indexer) Programmer provides quick, out-of-the-box use with an extremely friendly, point-and-click graphical interface that does not require any software programming experience. Once an Si program has been constructed and downloaded to the drive, the program can be executed stand-alone at power-up or from an external trigger. Constructing a program is accomplished through the use of instructions selected in a point-and-click manner. Once an instruction is selected, a "fill in the blanks" format is used to input parameters.

Constructing an Si program requires no prior programming experience nor does it require learning a programming language. Si Programmer generates the actual motion control program, based on user selected parameters, thereby eliminating syntax errors. Once created, programs are easily downloaded, uploaded, saved and printed.

Si Programmer also provides the capability to control digital inputs and outputs, useful for interfacing with external equipment like PLCs, sensors, end-of-travel switches, and more. Si Programmer has found success in all types of applications, from simple linear actuator applications to complete machine control with operator interface applications.
